What's said. What's heard and learned. Or not! Youโ€™ve just spent 10 minutes explaining something to a client or a staff member in training. The person says they understand and have no questions. Hours or days later, it becomes apparent that they must not have been listening to what you told them. Is that a truth or misconception? In spite of our best efforts to clearly and concisely communicate information to our clients or to employees in training, our words don't always stick. It can be frustrating for the one doing the educating. Dr. Sandra San Miguel - Associate Dean for Engagement and a Professor at Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine - explains some of the reasons why people donโ€™t always learn or absorb words that are spoken to them, and shares how we can potentially make a better impact when communicating important information. Complimentary Registration! Running time: 15 mins
