Cranberry extract and cranberries have been shown to prevent urinary tract infections (UTI) in women. Until recently, the effects of cranberries in the management of dogs with UTI were unknown.
In this Evidence Based Update we discuss findings of a recent study that examined the in vitro and in vivo effects of cranberry extract in association with UTI. Discussion includes:
